Panoramic dental x-rays are used to create a two dimensional image of the entire head and neck structures. The image is a flat representation of the jaw's curved structure including the teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular (TMJ) joints, the nasal and sinus areas and the base of the skull.
